What is The Sunshine Singers initiative?
The Sunshine Singers is a heartwarming initiative that uses the power of music to bring joy, connection, and emotional well-being to seniors in care settings.
This is more than passive entertainment for residents, it is an opportunity for social engagement and participation with our artists.

In small, dynamic groups, our artists will visit senior homes to engage residents through lively songs and meaningful interactions.
Whether performing in common areas or moving room-to-room for more intimate experiences, the Sunshine Singers aim to create an uplifting atmosphere that fosters joy, companionship, and connection.

Visits are approximately 2 hours in length, and we offer options of both common areas and room-to-room visits (for isolated individuals as recommended by staff).
What are the benefits of this program?
For Seniors: The Sunshine Singers provide a joyful escape and a sense of community, helping participants reconnect with their past through music while fostering new, meaningful social experiences.

For Artists: This program offers artists an opportunity to use their talents in a meaningful way, bridging the gap between the arts and care. By engaging directly with seniors, they develop their professional and personal skills while making a tangible difference in people’s lives.
How does it work?
The Sunshine Singers are groups of four! We plan to visit 30 locations in the St. John's/Avalon area throughout February and March 2025. Long-term care personal care homes can book a visit by emailing us or filling out our contact form.
