Jack Thistle is a bilingual science graduate, experienced performer, and passionate community advocate with a strong interest in geriatric medicine and the power of the arts to connect generations.

As a recent graduate from Memorial University's B.Sc. Biochemistry program, Jack has spent over a decade immersed in vocal and dance training and has performed in numerous musical theatre productions across Newfoundland. Notable roles include Jesus in Godspell (Etcetera Productions), The Artful Dodger in Oliver! (Peter MacDonald Productions), and Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical (Atlantic Light Theatre).

Alongside his artistic pursuits, Jack has been deeply engaged in volunteerism and leadership, serving as Vice President of the Biochemistry Society, a volunteer with Let’s Talk Science, and a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters. These experiences have shaped his growing dedication to geriatric medicine, where he hopes to continue using creativity and compassion to support the well-being of older adults.

As someone who has always been described as an “old soul,” Jack naturally connects with older adults and is excited to bring joyful, inclusive, and meaningful programming to individuals of all ages—including those living with dementia—through his work with The Arts and Aging Network.
