Arts for Life

The Arts for Life Program is an innovative pilot initiative in partnership with local community spaces, seniors' homes, and the City of St. John’s. It offers professional artist-led, dementia-friendly arts programming tailored to seniors, including those living with dementia and their loved ones or carers.

What is Arts for Life?

The Arts for Life program consists of 8-week sessions designed around specific themes, each led by artists trained in aging, dementia sensitivity, and engagement.

  • Sessions run weekly for 1-2 hours, depending on the art form and the space. Each week introduces new activities while revisiting prior discussions and creations, allowing for skill-building, reflection, and personal growth.

  • Programs culminate in a small social gathering where participants share their final projects with loved ones, carers, and occasionally the public.
